Sunday July 2nd San Diego County Fair Booth. Volunteers are needed throughout the day to man the booth in the garden division and talk about mushrooms to fair attendees. If you are interested in helping, contact the club at email@example.com (entrance fees will be covered).
August 10-13 2017 NAMA REGIONAL FORAY IN ARIZONA in the White Mountains. Must be a NAMA member to register. If you are interesting in carpooling, contact firstname.lastname@example.org so we can try to connect you with other club members that are attending.
The May 1st meeting is our last meeting of the season and will be a potluck dinner. The dinner will start at 7:00 PM in Room 101, Casa Del Prado in Balboa Park. Please bring a cooked or cold dish and your own beverage. (Note: there is no kitchen access) If your dish contains wild mushrooms, please provide identification of the type contained in your dish.
The club will provide plates, cups, napkins, and utensils, but feel free to bring your own.
Volunteers are needed for setting up and decorating the room. Set-up will begin around 6:30pm.
We will also have a Silent Auction fundraiser. Feel free to bring/donate items to the auction.
For the April 3rd meeting, Michelle and Jack Innis will present a slideshow on their experience with shitake cultivation. The meeting will start at 6:30 PM in Room 101, Casa Del Prado in Balboa Park.
Feb 18th Foray and Potluck 10 am to 1pmish
There will be a foray on Saturday Feb 18th, 2017 to collect specimens to be displayed at the fair. The foray is on private property in Santa Isabel and is for member’s only. All participants must complete a foray Release and Indemnification Liability Waiver. We will meet at 10 am and then collect mushrooms until noonish. Afterwards there will be a potluck and group identification session to try to identify the mushrooms collected.
Feb 18th Fungus Fair Setup, 5pm
Volunteers are needed to help setup for the fair on Saturday evening starting at 5pm at Casa del Prado Room 101.

Feb 19th Mushroom Foster Program
At the end of the fair, we need foster parents to adopt the large paper mache mushrooms to keep until next year. If interested, please contact us at email@example.com
The guest speaker for our February 6th meeting is Lee Hamm. The meeting will be hosted in Room 101, Casa Del Prado in Balboa Park at 6:30 PM.
Lee Hamm is the Recreation and Lands Officer for the Palomar Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest. Established in 1908, the Cleveland National Forest is the southern-most National Forest in California. Consisting of 460,000 acres, the forest offers a wide variety of terrains and recreational opportunities.
Lee’s presentation is titled: “Foraging, Hunting, and Fishing on the Cleveland National Forest”
Lee has a B.S. in Wildlife Science from Auburn University, and a M.S. in Natural Resource Ecology and Management from Oklahoma State University where he studied gamebirds. He has previously worked for the United States Marine Corps, The National Park Service, and US Fish and Wildlife Service. He enjoys hunting, fishing, foraging, diving, and spending time with his (very understanding) wife.
