The guest speaker for our October 5th meeting will be Sam Andrasko. The meeting will be hosted in Room 101, Casa Del Prado in Balboa Park at 6:30 PM.
The presentation will include a discussion on the development of fungal hyphae with an overview of how fungi decompose matter, store energy, and the requirements they need to fructify. Examples of how commercially cultivated mushrooms are grown will be presented as well as what processes are involved. Before going home participants will have a basic understanding of what it takes to grow mushrooms for themselves, find needed information and help or even start their own mushroom production facility.
We will try to have spawn that participants can take home to try to grow mushrooms for themselves.
There will be NO pre-meeting dinner this month.
